Can anyone explain to me why black players would risk killing the goose that lays the golden egg? Makes no sense unless they’re gambling that there is no risk. A violent REACTION in a bar t something can get them in deep doo doo but they have plenty of SOBER time to think about what they’re doing. Maybe the first million is all they want.
After one of the games was over last night on a tv at a bar I work at espn literally ran like an hour long documentary comparing Mohamed Ali to kapernick. Made me sick.

As much as people think that NFL players (having spent time in college) are so smart...I would speculate that most players (doesn’t matter on ethnic status) are probably not capable of grasping how you’d be lied-to and deceived on some social agenda episode.
Nor are most players sitting there and calculating...25-percent fewer people watching games. Bars not having a NFL Monday night episode. Fan paraphernalia not selling at previous levels. Ticket sales off by 20-to-30 percent, with discounts being given to cover this period.
All of this would point toward a serious problem with ticket sales in the spring/summer of 2018, and a stagnation effort on salaries for current players. I’d also guess that incoming NCAA players will see a 20-percent drop in bonuses as the draft occurs.
All of this will lead to a strike period in 2019 or 2020, where players think they are unfairly treated on stagnation of salaries, and the owners saying fine...go ahead and strike.
For many, I think,
1. Not too bright to begin with
2. Have unearned wealth and media exposure
3. Were never taught to be responsible
4. Were never taught to appreciate those that enabled their wealth

Left to themselves, most players wouldn't protest, but it becomes a "them against us" thing and players don't want to be on the side of them.
It's not necessarily about race -- or protest, either. Some players are showing solidarity with their teammates.

These players have been shielded from consequences throughout their life. They excelled in a difficult sport, to the point where their physical prowess became multi-million dollar contracts. They have not been told "no" in any meaningful way since their earliest years.
They, further, believe that football and the NFL are "bigger than Jesus", to quote John Lennon.
They do not believe that anyone would dare gainsay what they have to say, outside of very limited criminal activity boundaries. Thus, they do not perceive the risk they attach to themselves in this protest.
