I especially liked the material they put out in the 1980’s.Definitely. For my money, I think that Long Distance Voyager eclipses all of their previous work. It was...and still is...magnificent.

I am always bumfuzzled at how such organizations go about their selection/nominating process. So many very worthy folks/bands that have been overlooked for years - yet some of the yahoos (and not even “rock and roll) folks who have been welcomed in...
And of course there is a political element to this - just like with every other entertainment industry awards/recognition deal...

Kind of silly that Denny Laine will get in the hall of fame with the Moody Blues before he gets in with Wings, even though Wings had a lot more hits.
...
I don’t think Laine would be included. He didn’t have much influence on the Moody Blue’s best years.

Ray Thomas was the founder of the band.

I don’t know if they, or some of them, are nominal Christians or have a real faith in Christ Jesus, but they did a wonderful job with “WHAT CHILD IS THIS?” I believe they recorded that in the early 70’s. John Lodge is an Evangelical Christian.

Viewing the list, I would vote for Nina Simone, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, MC5, and maybe the Moody Blues. Moody Blues get in because of their fans, not because of critical acclaim. Kind of like Rush a few years ago.
