Proof That A M240 Machine Gun Used In Las Vegas Shooting @ Mandalay Bay

The rate of fire and waveforms match almost exactly. If you have ever used a bump fire you know they are finnicky at best and certainly not capable of firing a perfect 74 round burst as shown in this video.

The weapon had a variable rate of fire (as recorded by someone at the foundation of Mandalay Bay.)

was the range target zone 350,000 square feet? Did they also have the barrel end pistol grip? You may have also missed that the JP4 tanks 1100 feet away also have bullet impacts.

Are you really so dumb as to think the mafia is just a conspiracy even though court case after court case has shown it to be real?

The dumbing down of America on display.

I think I’ll rewatch “The Kingdom” Secondary blasts....

He’s sounding more and more to me like an “Oswald” (JFK)

I can tell it to my SAW gunners who had weapons malfunctions every time they tried using 30-rd magazines in their machine guns.

I’m not saying it never works, just that it’s not reliable. Belt-fed is still the way to go with SAWs, but you can use magazines when you’re in a pinch.

You do realize that according to the conspiracy loons on here that post means you’re either a government shill or Media Matters troll, don’t you?

No doubt, but that's my cross to bear, I suppose.

“He likely went from weapon to weapon.”

At last nights briefing the Sheriff said some of the guns were jammed. So it’s pretty clear he had anticipated to use more than one or two.

I sense that Godebert is dubious of your claims.

“I think conspiracy theorists are uneducated morons.”

I found a blog with a link to a youtube video that claims to be security camera footage that may have been from the same city where there were some uneducated morons and the sound profiles totally match. Coincidence?

Have you ever fired a machine gun or bump fire rifle? People who have never fired a machine gun think that all you have to do is point it in the general direction and mass killing will happen. At 400 yards a slight movement in the barrel will throw the shots off by yards at the target area ... generally shooting high and punching holes in the sky.

Yep. US Army basic training Fort Polk, LA Nov 1971 - Feb 1972. We had to fire an M60 for familiarization. We also were trained with automatic fire from the M16 at night fire days so we could do that and get familiar with tracers at the same time. As for your point about the range, I measured the target area to be around 350,000 square feet at a distance of 750-1500 feet at a downward fire of 15 to 25°. I have not fired a weapon with the Bump Stock because I absolutely have no need for it. I hated the M16 because I could not feel confident in hitting 300 meter targets. I subsequently took my annual re-qualifications with an M14 and loved it. In addition to my handguns my baby is a National Match MiA with a bipod and a scope.

What are the odds of blowing one or more of those tanks with the various weapons being suggested, at the distance they were at in this case?

Extremely small. Most jet fuels (depends on mixture/composition) have lower/upper explosive limits of .7-4% (regular gas is 1.4-7.6%). What this means is there needs to be a specific amount of fuel gas in the air for it to be explosive. If it's higher or lower, it will not explode. It is still flammable, but not explosive.

So when it comes to shooting fuel tanks, you'll definitely be able to punch holes and create leaks, but very unlikely to explode. You won't get sparks from the rounds, since both lead and copper don't spark (I'm assuming no tracer/explosive rounds, obviously they have ignition). Steel core ammo CAN spark, however. The heat from friction of flight/mashing into the tank will heat them up, but without a spark there won't be any explosion. Jet fuel's auto-ignition point is 410 degrees F, which is the temperature required for it to ignite if there are no sparks/outside flame.

So, chances are all you'll be able to do is create a big leak. Fire, not too likely, and explosion even less so.

That’s sort of what I figured, upon further thought. Vapor pressure would keep the mixture (fuel vapor) ratio too high: Maybe if one could get the tank partially drained and then hit it again with steel in an area where outside air had flowed in... but an explosion still seems unlikely.

OTOH, I keep wondering if the Tannerite was supposed to end up by a fuel tank. Did Paddock have anything set up to do real sniping with, instead of “spray and pray”?
