Yeah, I have some nits to pick with it as well. Now, as a disclaimer, I like the series. But c'mon, here, let's look at a big hole in the premise: the U.S. Navy has over 450 ships, but the Nathan James is the only one still manned? And the rest are just bobbing around the global waters, derelict? No Brits? No French? Not even a U.S. Coast Guard cutter? Yet, they can always find a Russian or Greek warship, or a rogue sub to tangle buttholes with? That aspect of it is a mile wide and an inch deep. That whole 'We were in the Arctic' CYA is being stretched to the breaking point. If 80% of the planet's population were killed off, then by virtue of basic mathematics (and a little Kentucky windage), there should be roughly 90 naval vessels still manned in some form or fashion.
