God Bless America is a warmongering song that should not be played at sporting events, according to an Ithaca College professor.
In the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, the expressions of hyper-patriotism took hold, Professor Stephen Mosher wrote in an op-ed for The Ithacan, Irving Berlins warmongering song God Bless America became our second, unofficial national anthem at the ballpark.
That song, God Bless America, was sung by concertgoers in Las Vegas on Sunday night, led by country duo Big & Rich, just an hour before a shooter opened fire on them....
He added: Maybe America the Beautiful would be better (although it has problems for 21st century citizens)."

City of evil ping
Our universities need to be addressed.
This nonsense has gone far enough.
GTFO of my country, professor dickhead.
Professors are among the dumbest people on the planet. Why they get their stupid ideas considered at all escapes me.
As opposed to the peaceful melody coming out of the mouths of organizations like antifa and blm, right Professor?
Leftists want that Commie Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land” to be the anthem.
Worse than Evil.. There are parents who have just sent the kid off to college and have just discovered what type of “EDUCATION” the youngster will get in exchange for the 25 pounds of cash it’s costing them.
At 70 I’m no Spring Chicken, thus I remember the days when we regarded college professors with high esteem. They have succeeded to diminish that perspective times ten.
There is not a single “warmongering” thing about “God Bless America.”
Another nutty academic.
Are there any rational professors left?
Only very rarely do I hear performers include the first stanza, which is by far, IMHO the best part of the song. Irving Berlin particularly added it in 1936, to update the song for the times
“While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. “
Oh. Yeah. Did they bother to look up who composed it?
Irving Berlin. A struggling Russian Jew immigrant who, along with his family and his immigrant community on the Lower East Side, loved this adoptive country after being driven out of Russia
Here’s rudyard Kipling on that particular group of Americans
Nobel Prize-winning author Rudyard Kipling, living up the coast during that period, said he “was shocked and intrigued by the screeching squalor he found in the dirty gray tenement canyons of immigrant New York.”[11]:20 He described it as worse than the slums of Bombay, but was nonetheless “impressed and moved by the Jews,” says Whitcomb, noting how the songs by the little immigrant boys “saluted the Stars and Stripes.” Kipling wrote, “For these immigrant Jews are a race that survives and thrives against all odds and flags.”[11]:20
Always good to have academics lectur us
The College Debt bubble has to be on the verge of collapse. The total in the U.S. is greater than the GDP of many countries.
They need to start “piss testing” these Marxist “professors”. If they don’t come up “positive” they should be sent to an asylum for a little psychiatric help.
While the storm clouds gather far across the
Sea, let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair, as we
Raise our voices in a solemn prayer
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
God bless America, my home sweet home
I guess the millions killed on behalf of the “The Internationale” should just be ignored...

Yeah... God Bless America is horrible.....SUUUURRRREEEEEE
God Bless America is a prayer. It beseeches the Almighty to protect us and stand beside us and guide us. It describes the land mass that forms the geography of America and seeks guidance and protection for America that is us, the people; all of us, including our idiots.
