Would seem the guy did not own guns and did not know how to fire them. "Would seem" is the operative phrase here.
How can anyone say the guy did not own guns if there have already been comments cited in the media from the owners of two gun shops in the Las Vegas area who claim that they sold guns to Paddock, and that he passed all the necessary background checks?
Who do you think has a better grasp on the truth here -- the next door neighbor who gets on Savage's radio show (now there's credibility for you; the host doesn't even use his real name), or a gun store owner who presumably has a paper trail to verify what he's saying?

You can't argue with conspiracy theorists. They'll just say the gun shop owners are part of the plot, or are being told what to say by the CIA or FBI.

Savage has also an affinity for conspiracy theories.
