Last nights Monday Night Football match-up between the still unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins started off with a moment of silence for those killed and injured in Sundays mass shooting in Las Vegas.

As a football fan, I am pulling for the collapse of the NFL. These thugs aren’t the role models young people need.
BOYCOTT!!!!!!
How many took a knee?
They are probably going to have their best season in years and I won't be caring.
Good Job NFL >:(
LOL. Forgot it was Monday. Never even crossed my mind football was on.
I am rooting for the collapse of the National Felon League.
“The ESPN broadcast was then followed by the national anthem that saw all of the DC team linking arms while Chiefs players Marcus Peters and Ukeme Eligwe sat on the bench.”
F ‘em.
Wondering if anyone else noticed this but pregame was supposed to be having signal problems right up to kickoff. then right before the game started everything was perfect. Only the game started with the national anthem at all. Hmmmmm
Ditto
But I am skeptical that the general public has a long enough memory. History would suggest that this will fade from the collective memory in a short time.
In my case I do not forgive nor forget when the Rubicon is crossed in this manner.
There was an article somewhere yesterday about networks avoiding the time leading up to kick-off to avoid controversy. Yeah, whatever, we know your tricks.
Did either team have players who stood —— AND had hands over their hearts?

Let them model the NBA players instead!
Oh wait.......uh were screwed.
I predict that the MLB postseason will get higher than usual ratings.
From the article:
Chiefs players Marcus Peters and Ukeme Eligwe sat on the bench.
Sitting on the bench is the same as taking a knee. But I wanted all to know which players are STILL disrespecting our flag/country/anthem.
The NFL is dead to me and can go to hell.

That’s funny because when all this nonsense started they focused multiple cameras on the kneelers.
Actually, it was three. Two knelt and one sat on his butt on the bench.
Apparently, you weren’t the only one.
I’m surprised that they didn’t give the Black Power salute over all those dead white people.
I have the same experience. Once a lifelong, rabid football fan up to five years ago, I became disenchanted at how grotesque and vulgar professional football (sports) had become and quit watching. I was amazed at how quickly I quit thinking about it. There are so many more worthwhile things to do with the time. See no point in giving time and money to filthy rich semiliterates who thoroughly despise me and my country anyway.
