79 minutes?
He was only active for 10 minutes.
Not sure where you’re getting 79 minutes from.
“The shooting reportedly stopped after five to fifteen minutes, though estimates vary.”

He was shooting for ten to fifteen minutes. After the shooting it took a hour to get to him. That is the reality of police response to this kind of situation. The facts are still pretty sketchy as to how this went down.
Much better than Orlando massacre which took, what? 6 hours? I remember thinking I could have done the 2 hour trip from home and arrived way before them
Law enforcement learns from each disaster scenario. I’m not going to second guess them.
I’m fairly certain he barricaded himself in the room by piling furniture in front of the doors. Take into account response time to the building, getting to a high story room in a very large building, initial (later shown to be false) reports of bombs and multiple attackers, and then attempting to gain entry to a fortified position where a known attacker was firing automatic weapons, and I can see it.
After he stopped firing, the lack of noise might have made it more difficult to find him.
Did anyone shoot back at the guy?
Why did nobody return fire??
The shooter did as well or better than most individual US Marine machinegunners managed to do against Japanese Banzai charges in WWII.
And the Marines used actual machineguns.
I guess being there might make it easier to know the facts versus making specious claims/insinuations against those who knew they were facing full auto weapons with an unknown source and couldn’t even be sure if he was alone. By the time they got in (way before that), I’d wager there weren’t many targets left in the field of fire....
Are you really going to return fire into a glass hotel full of people when you are not exactly sure which window to shoot at?
This could have been a friendly fire disaster also. Fortunately it wasn’t.
Why is this showing up in the Religion Forum?
Police had to gear up and transport swat teams through crowded downtown. Then they had to climb 32 floors of stairs. Then they had to assemble and make entry. That would take an hour.
Isn’t that about as much time as the Pulse leftist shooter had in Orlando?
