There is a movie, dating back to 1955, called "We're No Angels", with Bogart, Peter Ustinov and Aldo Ray. They are escapees from Devil's Island waiting to stow away on a ship. Bogart was sent there because he owned a business that sold canned mountain air to people who couldn't afford the trip. Back then, it was a joke.
