Tom Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
EMTs rushed to his Malibu home and were able to get a pulse. He was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital and our sources say he was put on life support.
Petty's condition is unknown but was critical from the moment he was found.

Very sad, that means only Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne are left from the Travelling Wilburys, as George Harrison and Roy Orbison have since passed as well. Tom’s “Full Moon Fever” album was an essential requirement for living in residence back when I was a freshman in 1989.
Ah, yes, living proof that doing a massive amount of drugs can provide for a long life. Or in Hef’s case a large amount of sex.

It's a shame what happened, he's only 66. I consider that quite young these days.
Yes, the majority of cardiac arrests...do not have good outcomes.
But, I've witnessed many that have had cardiac arrests...and we get them back..The "problem" gets fixed...and they continue to have birthdays..with no deficits.
That said...when you find someone down...for who knows how many minutes...it's not a good thing.
Tom Petty...was a great singer/song writer....that had a pretty good heroin habit...at one time...I do believe. I hope he did not suffer....
