The picture here does not actually apply to this accident. However, it does apply to a similar too-fast-for-conditions bike accident that happened in about the same place a few years ago. The cyclist went out of control and slid across the road into the oncoming lane. Fortunately for him, he was run over and nearly killed by an oncoming vehicle. I say "fortunately for him" because if his slide had not been stopped by the oncoming vehicle, a witness said he would have slid off the edge of the road and landed at the bottom of Columbus Canyon.
