“Likely I won’t run another Win 10 update.”

Do you have a choice? I’ve heard, and believe, that it’s done whether you want it or not. I have Win 10 and despise it with the heat of a thousand burning suns.

DH wants me to buy a nice piece of jewelry for my birthday this month. I don’t need no stinkin’ jewelry. I want something useful and am looking at HP and Dell, both of which sell new Windows 7 computers.

If you set your Internet connection to “metered”, even though it isn’t, the update cannot/will not run without your consent - under the theory that as a metered connection, your Internet connection available time may not be sufficient time.

You can changed your home Internet connection, Wi Fi or otherwise to “metered” whether or not it really is. It does not seem to have any performance draw back.
