Hi all. Puerto Rico WAS NOT blown back to the middle ages, Matt Drudge.
Most of our buildings are built of reinforced concrete. The rest is claen up, restore services, and let nature heal itself.
There are no riots, no looting, roads are being cleaned. It will take a long time to restore everything, but we should be back real soon. I mean. Old San Juan is still there, the beaches are still there. The Rainforest will restore itself after many years of overgrowth.
We will be back real soon.
JUST SEND ICE! I don't care what anyone says, we need a flotilla of large cargo ships loaded with ICE. We need ICE machines and generators to run it. We need a massive and efficient effort to distribute ICE around the island. With ICE taken care of, we can take care of ourselves.
ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE. Please.
Thanks.
San Juan.
Not ICE, ice. Thanks for the report, and prayers for everyone in PR.
Right down the road from the hotel. Godspeed to you. TV reported the storm was over San Juan 8 or 10 hours.
62 feet!
Ask Hillary if she’ll visit for a few months.
(If she does, we’ll send you winter coats. It’d be easier than sending tons of ice.)
Good luck there - hopefully this tragedy will encourage some on humanity’s dark side to begin embracing light.
Our prayers are with you.
Everything we need to know is told us by our government!
Old San Juan has buildings close to 500 years old so I would expect that they have survived their fair share of hurricanes. A friend of mine from the islands once told me that hurricanes there are like the big bad wolf. If your house is made of straw or stick you’re in trouble. If your house is made of brick you should be good.
The little rental house on the beach where we stayed was concrete.
The salty sea air hadn’t harmed the house but had eaten through the Weber charcoal grill...
No no no, there are 100 foot floods worst ever in history it was a CAT 5 aaiiieee, you downcaster you.
No to debt restructuring. No to paying off PR’s debt. The vultures charged usury interest rates ‘due to the risk of default.’ Fine, PR’s already paid them their blood money, time to just finalize the bankruptcy and shrug off those debts and move on.
Yes, the financial market will have a cow. Yes, they’ll charge high rates in the future. And it’ll be cheaper for the people of PR.
It’s a Narrow valley.
Great!
Yup. Still, people lived there.
My Yetti cooler does an amazing job at that...
We are supposed to vaca in PR on the 30th of this month. Do you think there will be power and the airports open?
Should we cancel our trip?
We will bring ice if that helps...
Very pleased to know you are good and thank you for providing accurate local info! Amen!!!
But I thought Puerto Ricans were US citizens. ;)
Thanks for your encouraging report!
One ha she to wonder if some of the hysteria is not aimed at getting the taxpayers of the states to pay for Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy.
