Have you ever noticed that your healed piercings sometimes smell, well, awful??
Its something between rotting food and smelly feet, and its enough to make even your pets run (or want to give you a bath!). Some people call it ear funk, ear cheese, piercing funk, ear stink, or just plain yuk!
So exactly what produces this worse than normal, even perfume wont cover it up smell?
THIS THIS is a favorite topic of mine !
I have 6 piercings in my ears. 3 in each. I’m a man, in my 40s and semi-retired. I run my own business, work for my wife’s business and have a young daughter.

Tattoos signify commitment issues.
If you get a tattoo, yes - it’s permanent. But it’s not you that keeps it permanent. You don’t really have a choice. If you get a piercing, then it’s a commitment. You have to be committed to keeping it open and full of some junk jewelry.
Piercings that stink : This comes and goes. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. It’s completely different for everyone. If it stinks, you should let it close up and look elsewhere for an expression of how you want to be different... just like everyone else.
I have two holes in my ears that stank. I had to do special things to address it, or let them go. I spent over a year properly treating the holes because I was dedicated to having the jewelry.
My jewelry is custom. It cost about $300 to fill up with a specific pattern and I have to think about that pattern. Most people, like most Tattoo recipients, just walk in and pick from a catalog without doing ANY thought, feeling or justification behind them. These people wind up with stinky holes and simply boring piercings. Yawn.
Those folks have a serious issue with their Central Processing Unit.
For the same reason everything stinks. Bacteria build up.
