From the idiotic drug-addict hokum Requiem for a Dream to the overrated, overwrought and over-hyped Black Swan, which I called a lavishly staged Repulsion in toe shoes, the films of wack job Darren Aronofsky have shown a dark passion for exploring twisted souls in torment. But nothing hes done before to poison the ozone layer prepared me for mother!, an exercise in torture and hysteria so over the top that I didnt know whether to scream or laugh out loud. Stealing ideas from Polanski, Fellini and Kubrick, hes jerrybuilt an absurd Freudian nightmare that is more wet dream than bad dream, with the subtlety of a chainsaw.
This delusional freak show is two hours of pretentious twaddle that tackles religion, paranoia, lust, rebellion, and a thirst for blood in a circus of grotesque debauchery to prove that being a woman requires emotional sacrifice and physical agony at the cost of everything else in life, including life itself.

someone let me know if she and michelle pfieffer get naked otherwise I’ll stay home.
???
The editing ended in Aug one week before its premiered at film festival
Did she sell her soul to Satan to be famous, and Lucifer himself come to collect and stayed to make movies?
Don’t forget Diane Keaton’s “Looking For Mr. Goodbar.” Easily the worst movie I’ve ever seen in the theater, it made Robin Williams’ “World According to Garp” look like Casablanca.
Little Nicky, and Oceans 12...two of the worst I have ever tried to watch.
I dunno. I think he really dug it.
“I thought Aronofsky’s Pi and Requiem for a Dream were both very well done”
I didn’t hate Requiem, well, I hated that Jennifer Connelly wasn’t her usual gorgeous self, but c’mon. Rex has a point. It’s like film school threw up.
How about the 1978 Joan Collins classic “The Stud”. I did a bad movie VHS rental fest one night and rented that one as well as Kevin Costner’s “The Gunrunner”, which makes “The Postman” look like “Citizen Kane” by comparison, lol.
I thought Aronofsky’s Pi and Requiem for a Dream were both very well done.
It’s fun to tell folks Wynona Ryder was in that movie. Yes, she was!
michelle pfieffer get naked otherwise
“...but that is how addiction is.”
OK, now that’s a good point. The chaotic and Dali-esque feel does convey being part of the party pretty well.
I love that movie. Classic Landis action-comedy. Very underrated.
Aranofsky and his paramour are such *artistes*.... lol
“Shes not unattractive but I could point out a few far more attractive women just where I work.”
Man would I love to have that Silver Linings Playbook girl ruin my life.
That is unless I get a shot at Mona Lisa Vito first.
for a few years she was naked in my bed every night. In a dream that was.
I first saw that movie back when I was doing drugs in New Orleans.
That movie ensured that I never tried and never will try heroin for one, and it’s portrayal of the madness caused by pill addiction is spot on.
Unfortunately the movie did not dissuade me from taking pills. Wish I had been smarter then.
Looks have nothing to do with acting ability-———she’s a great actress.
.
Which Joan Collins movie was worse? The Stud or Empire of the Ants?
