Generally, I like Aronofsky's films. Reed seems to take issue here with his pretentiousness.
Aronofsky makes films for people who want something a little deeper than the typical Hollywood comic book movie that is about as memorable as the last can of Pepsi you drank.
Black Swan was entertaining, but I don’t know if it was objectively good.

Can't be much of a critic. The script would have been written long before Donald Trump was elected. Shooting began in June 2016 and concluded August 28, 2017 according to Wikipedia. Which I find hard to believe. That was a little over a month and a half ago. I can't imagine a movie going from last scene shot to theaters in a little over a month and a half. As to it being a satire on chaos caused by Donald Trump, no way. Obama is the one that brought chaos and dysfunction to the world.

I have to admit “Class” was one of those movies that I wanted very much to see when it was new in the theatres but was too young. And I do agree with your idea about many young guys who would have loved to have traded places with Andrew McCarthy (as I rented it on VHS some years later), so perhaps I was a little too harsh in my original comment, lol.

I seriously doubt that an actress who makes several million bucks a movie has to give sex for movie parts any more. I think that Ingrid Bergman commented on that when she got an Academy Award.
