Did ya know these crooks are replacing all the residential street sign in the U.S.? They say the reason is to install street signs with reflective lettering so licensed drivers can see the names of the street.
Begs the question, why would they give a driver’s license someone who’s unable to read the street signs to begin with? I asked some unionized utility worker what it was costing the tax payers to do this, he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. I told him he’s got real job security, with only a gazillion signs left to replace.
In slurred speech:
“What pole, man?
I don’t know nothin’ about no pole...
Oh, THAT pole!
To tell you the truth, officer, I have no idea how it got there”
He should have said, “Since you guys are spending tax payer money like drunken lotto winners, ie, $2,500 for a freaking pole x tens of thousands, I’d thought I’d attempt to recoup some of my stolen money”.
Lets see, $2500 for the pole, about $2500 for 5 utility workers, 4 to stand around watching 2 install the pole, the cost of the utility truck, planning, design, putting out contractor bids, digging out the hole and on and on.
Everything considered, I wonder what the actual cost to the tax payers each of the poles really coast.
So I’d guess it’s probably up around $10,000 per pole the tax payers are forced to fork over.
You forgot to factor in the police detail...time and a half, unless it is on a holiday, then it is double time!
Now, wait...is that a 50 foot pole dancer, or a dancer for a 50 foot pole!
Reminds me of a shirt I saw a while back:
“Let’s eat, Grandma!”
“Let’s eat Grandma!”
“Commas save lives!”
They were on their way to a Hillary book signing and they needed something longer than the proverbial, “10 foot pole”.
“Officer, it fell on top of my car. Im lucky I wasnt killed”
Then they could turn around and sue the city!
I’m actually surprised it’s not more. That must be wholesale price
