The reason why classic cars are so appealing is the lower belt line. The high belt line of modern cars make them less appealing, at least to me.

I agree with that 100%, although I love the retro Mustangs, at least up until the last couple of years. In any case, I can't think of a better example of what you're saying about the "high belt line", etc, than with the new/retro Dodge Challengers. To me they just look too fat and stocky. The original was more lean and low.
