No modifieds, please!
Just about every car is a muscle car, if you want to argue against traditional definitions!

I had a 66 GTO tri power, a 66 rusty bondo buggy Mustang Fastback with a 390. A 68 Camaro Z28 convertible and a 68 442 convertible. The 442 was my favorite. But the GTO was the fastest. I've still got the Camaro. I restomodded it with Wildwood disks and a crate motor with a Doug Nash 5 speed. Still has the old carb style intake with an Edelbrock and distributor set up. It gets driven most nice days. Still has original paint.
I don't think I spent more than 1K for any of them in the 70's.
Wish I still had them all.

That’s ok, it was probably just a typo. But we had some fun with it.

ROFLMAO
God I wish.
Actually this is 2 cars - 1 for the body and 1 shot for the engine.
They’re “my” beloved Duesies. You’ll never hear anything roar the way these SJs do. Never. Nothing touches it; completely Darth Vader masculine, not an annoying whine about it unlike muscle cars or racing cars etc. (ACD Festival parade, some owners/drivers give us a thrill and rev it up.) Oh and recordings don’t cover it right (my video doesn’t sound the same as the parade). Has to be in person.

BTW I like your Ford. Is this Fairlane only or Galaxie specifically?
My mom had a blue convertible Galaxie 500XL, but it was ‘65. She loved it, although most don’t think the ‘65 is collectible unlike ‘63. But she adored it and had to call it by all its letters, LOL, no abbreviating the name.

If you’re going to get that granular with definitions then technically the Cuda and Mustang don’t qualify as muscle cars either... they would be considered pony cars.
I know that vettes were marketed as “sports cars” but they have always been included as part of the American muscle car iconography.

I knew it was a typo, but I couldn’t resist. Kudos for having a sense of humor. I don’t even know how to do emojis, so I’ll just picture one in my mind. By the way, I once owned a 1967 GTO...what a nice driving car.

My sister bought a 75 Grand Prix SJ triple black no t tops.
It had the 455 and was a sweet ride.
A few years ago it locked up and she stored it in my pole barn. I bought it and dropped a 350 4 bolt in I had laying about. She's been after me to get it back. Not gonna happen. LOL.

BTW I like your Ford. Is this Fairlane only or Galaxie specifically? Not mine. Each photo was obviously of a different Ford Fairlane. Just pics I found through a search engine.
Sorry, don't know much about the Fairlane/Galaxy thing, other than that they were in some way related.

“1969 old 442”
Excellent choice. 100% agree. Hope to get another someday.
Mine should become a classic muscle car (I have no intentions of selling it - ever). My 2016 PCP Challenger Hellcat M6.

I know that Vettes were marketed as sports cars but they have always been included as part of the American muscle car iconography. Agree. Can't think of them not being categorized as a muscle car, with a factory installed 327 or 427.

I bought a 70 Nova 2 door. 233 in line six, 3 on the tree for 50 dollars at a fire department auction.
2nd gear was out. Put a Hurst shifter on the floor. Found a 4Bbl intake in a bone yard. Got a 2in exhaust and a header hand bent with a glass pack and an exhaust cut out, welded the subframes together and air shocks wired to a compressor.
Super sleeper, steel wheels, Nu finish color waxed the faded paint.
Left the bench seats in it.
Wasn't a muscle car but it took off like a scalded dog. Man I loved that car.
Destroyed it on a wet winding road late at night. Sad end to a good car.

Thanks. Maybe someday if I can get my health back, I’ll track one of these down and fit it. Mean time, there are always dreams.

I still have my copy of Car and Driver with the comparison of the Pontiac vs. Ferrari GTO. I should have checked that before posting!
