As that massive storm battered Texas and other parts of the South, Mexico’s foreign minister reached out to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to offer assistance with the recovery efforts — something the nation also did following Hurricane Katrina.
It was a gracious and humane gesture from a country that has received nothing but crude invective from Trump. And of course, Trump responded to the offer not with thanks and gratitude, but with zero acknowledgment of it at all as he unleashed more racist garbage about Mexico.
And now, following that treatment and with its own natural disasters to contend with, Mexico has revoked the offer of assistance.

Blah, blah, blah. They rescinded the help because of the 8.1 earthquake they just had. They’ll be needing it for their own people.

UMM...Mexico must have realized that spending the money to work on this wouldn’t get them anywhere with Trump. So much for the goodness of their heart.

I'm not. I simply found the story amusing. This site is filled to the brim daily with articles directly linking to The New York Times, The Washington Post, HuffPost, etc., and no one bats an eye. Who cares?

The OFFER was to make a HoHo slap in the face to America and Trump. I don’t recall Mexico EVER offering to help us before. What has happened...is they now have a butt-load of their OWN storm damage to clean up, and being a second or third rate economy...they are going to need every peso.
All it took was the perception of an insult... that’s not a commitment nor dedication... that’s an opportunity to bail. GTH Mexico.
