An acclaimed British conductor has been fired from a prestigious American music festival after a seemingly innocent joke he made to a black friend was labelled racist.
Matthew Halls was removed as artistic director of the Oregon Bach Festival following an incident in which he imitated a southern American accent while talking to his longstanding friend, the African-American classical singer Reginald Mobley.

All of the most hilarious racial jokes I’ve ever heard were told to me by a black, conservative (I’m talking A-bomb level firebrand) deputy sheriff in CA. None of his bits would survive the open forum here. His kids are blessed, and succeeding like savages.

Years ago while in the Army Reserve I snuck a `policy letter’ onto the Equal Opportunity bulletin board. It read:
“HQDA EEO Policy: No soldier shall be denied equal rights because of the shape of her skin.”
The females in the unit were outraged & went to the commander:
“Sir, did you post this!!? And if not, who did!?”
Somehow he knew it was me. Spoke to me quietly & said, “Chief, I got enough problems with female soldiers. Please don’t go stirring the pot like this.”
“Understood, sir.” And that was the end of it, until I put up another fake blurb:
“Effective immediately: All jokes will be taken seriously!”

Hillary in “Black Voice” is the most pathetic pandering that I have ever witnessed. It is so embarrassing on so many levels. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry and I have always wondered what the audience really thought but dare not say. The faux Injun Warren doing a Cherokee War Dance could top this though.
You may be right, once we get the wall built and help them with their dug/gang violence we may wind up as excellent friends.

When I was researching my book months back, I wrote Robers with some questions about cornmeal and he discussed the confusion even further: Most grits in the South are traditionally made from a class of corn called dent corn whereas in Italy, most polenta is made from a class of corn called flint corn, which holds its texture better. Why do these different classes matter? Because of the different type of corn, grits can even come across as almost mushy while polenta is often more coarse and toothsome.

Barack Obama lied to black people in Selma and said that his parents got together after the march. Whatever he needed to say to claim that he was down with the struggle.
Any comment that requires an acknowledgement of the race of someone who is black in order to be funny or make sense is racist. There are corollaries for sex, one of the religions and sexual orientation, but not when uttered by the protected religion. Carry on.
He had enough PC awareness not to say “fried chicken” or “watermelon.” Still got a citizen’s arrest by the busybody thought police, though.
Thanks haven’t tried Cream of Wheat. We’ve been south on vacations and others have tried grits. I’m kind of food challenged..make that super wary of new foods... but I love polenta.

Blonde jokes by definition are not racist because most blondes are white. However, be careful, they might be sexist. You need to check to see if the blonde in question is a Trump voter first before you can deride her intelligence.
Ethnic humor against any non-white is completely verboten.
