TIME Magazine released its list of "TIME Firsts: Women who are changing the world," and among those honored in the project is Texas-native, Selena Gomez. The actress and singer was given a cover photo and was listed as the "first person to reach 100 million followers on Instagram." The 25 year old singer is actually one of 46 women featured in this week’s Time magazine for their feature called "Women Who are Changing the World."

I hate to be a naysayer, and hope not to be zotted, but when I look at the women listed in post #1, I cannot but help wonder how many reached their level of achievement due to their being females. Perhaps not the first woman as her accomplishment implies a certain skill. But the others?
