You know that you can make a soup out of the placenta. I read that in a book that my ex-wife’s hippie girlfriend had. I almost barfed then and I think I’m getting nauseous remembering it now.

I join you with that reaction.

Academically, I am a bit curious about what nutrients it might provide.

Babies obtain some pretty magical growth and brain developing materials from the placenta. (at least that’s my theory)

Makes me curious if there could be something to the idea of some of this passing off by making soup with it.

Back to my initial reaction... “:^)

I think it would be incredibly healthy due to the enormous concentration of stem cells but like you, the mere thought induces nausea.

I bought a first edition Whole Earth Catalogue I still have that indeed has two pages dedicated to placenta cooking for teepee hippies

I have friends who have five via natural vagina birth

Their mid wife always keeps the placenta for folks who eat them
