Lucky he was not taken out by a current and died of hypothermia

That was a very fun read. Thanks for posting.

Thanks...I just had a little memory flash...didn’t think about that one too often.
Makes me feel little old, in a way.
I look at kids now, and their lives look very planned and choreographed, soccer, dancing, music lessons, etc., all done while being tied by cell phone to their parents.
I feel like I had a completely untethered, unscripted existence. There was a playground with the fuselage of an old Catalina seaplane it it...and I played there for hours pretending to fly, with Mt. Fuji in the background. Not so far from that was the base yacht club, with dozens of boats of all kinds up on blocks. I would play in those things, pretending to sail them.
And make up games to dodge big, green waves of seawater.
Heck, I know kids today must have the equivalent types of experiences in some way...I just can’t relate to what they must be.

Damn Bill Cosby. Damn him. There were a lot of things I used to find funny about him such as
"Oops."

I know. I just can’t enjoy his stuff now, the same way I can’t enjoy anything OJ Simpson was associated with, his movies, football, etc.

Truman died in 1972, before the Mt. St. Helens eruption.

You are a little mixed up. Harry Truman did indeed die in the Mt. St. Helen's volcano. I was only around 18 years old when it happened but he was a hero of mine. A real curmudgeon!
Here is a song in his honor.
To: octex
LOL, not that Harry Truman. This old coot had the same name, which is probably the reason I can remember it!

Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
I was chewed out on FR a couple of weeks ago for observing that the soldiers in a Civil War cemetery are ... wait for it ... dead. Only Nazis, apparently, notice that some people are dead.

I have a lot of children, so I spend a lot of time pointing out the obvious.
