Prince Harrys girlfriend, gorgeous U.S. soap star Meghan Markle, stars on the cover of the forthcoming issue of Vanity Fair, in which she is billed as his likely wife. She herself says: Were two people who are really happy and in love. To make the front of Vanity Fair is the dream of every Hollywood actress. Even the biggest and best would kiss the shoes of veteran editor Graydon Carter for the privilege.

Used to be actresses were only worth keeping as mistresses. These Windsors seem to have a thing for divorcees; see Edward VIII and George VI (dated an married Aussie before dumping her).

Royals, the should be dismissed by Americans, in Hollywood and everywhere. Personally, Great Britain needs to rid themselves of their inbred Royal family. Off with their heads.

Why would anyone outside of England give a rat’s ass about these people?

Royals serve a purpose as a non-partisan head of state. In the US we have elevated the POTUS as a elected monarch.

UK has been socialist a long time. The royals are left in nominal place because they’re worth it for PR and tourism. The UK spends far less on all the royals combined than the USA spends on any president and family.

Prince Harry and Ms Markle talk and behave in a fashion in perfect harmony with their selfie generation, the most narcissistic in history.Max Hastings, acclaimed British author and historian laments that millennial royals act like millennials. Though he seems to reserve extra scorn for Ms. Markle, whose public behavior seems more in line with that of an opportunistic American actress and less of a pedigreed British Royal, as if anyone expected anything different.

"Royals serve a purpose as a non-partisan head of state. The Royals generate a lot of tourist revenue for the UK. They operate at a net profit and are self funded and take no money from the British government. They are also on record that they serve at the pleasure of the British people and would abdicate if requested to do so. Personally, I'm ambivalent about the whole thing. I do like Kate Middleton though, kinda hot 😜 Lol!

Off with YOUR head, pal!
Her Majesty is a devout Christian, faithful in acknowledging His Kingship in her life. Long live her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II!

She and her husband are the only worthwhile royalty. I’d add in Princess Anne but she looks such a rat bag for a still FAIRLY young woman.

If the UK royals were disestablished today, it would take several generations before they weren’t featured tabloid material.
There a plenty of people around with aristocratic blood of some kind, and any of them who are rich or glamorous are still tabloid material despite lack of any connection to government.

Possibly because of what the House of Windsor sticks its mitts in? Cases in point: Andrew and his associations with despots and sexual predators, Chuck and his willingness to shove the global warming scam down the UK's collective throat and his meddling in politics in general...
The House of Windsor is a menace.

True, though it's much more of a European thing than an American because that's where the royals and aristocrats are.
Max Hastings, acclaimed British author and historian laments that millennial royals act like millennials.
If history is any clue, acting like royals doesn't necessarily mean acting well.
Nor for that matter does acting like aristocrats, though there are always a few aristocrats who look down on the royals as too brash and boorish.
When countries get rid of monarchs, though, they can move one step closer to the rule of charismatic tyrants who appeal to the same popular enthusiasms as the royals.

the Hanoverians need some healthy mutt genes added to their DNA. Way too much inbreeding among their Royal selves. Marples is going to be smartest one of the bunch. Hope they have a dozen children.

I can honestly say that of all the things I worry about, this isn't one of them.
And even if I were disposed to worry about British royalty, I don't think a prince who can get a girlfriend who looks like this needs worrying about:

What has the family done for the country in the past 70+ years, beyond use of resources, horde their castles, and provide tabloid headlines?

I’ll make a prediction. Harry and Ms Markle will be talking marriage right up til the moment the Queen puts down her tea cup and says no. Anybody remember Koo Stark?
