That's because Trump is Hitler!!! And if Swift doesn't stand up against him (particularly as she is on the cusp of releasing her long-awaited new album) then, clearly, she is a Nazi.

Swift’s dilemma reminds me of the prison scene in the movie `American History X’ where Edward Norton’s neo-Nazi character becomes disillusioned with the whole “Heil myself” life-style, partly from working with a black guy and also seeing a fellow Aryan Brotherhood inmate selling drugs.
So he fails to return a Hitler salute and winds up getting gang raped by his pals.
The left demands their Hitler salute, Taylor says, “Nein, danke.”

I know for the most part actors like Tom Hanks is a Leftist. Although for the most part he is quiet compared to other actors. I believe Tom does not want to alienate his fan base. My guess is that is Taylor Swift’s approach or she is simply not political.
This has significantly raised my opinion of Taylor Swift; that she at least has the brains to stay out of a fight that would profit her nothing, and perhaps cost her a lot.
Apparently both her parents are smart as well, and guided her carefully to have a career, not just a few hits.
Too bad all musicians and actors don’t take that advice.

She’s not my cup of tea, but Ms. Swift likely realizes that Republicans, as well as Democrats, purchase music.

It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. I know Taylor isn’t country any more, but when I started becoming a country fan, just a few years ago, the stars were unabashedly conservative with their humor at their awards shows. I’ll be honest: that was one of the draws for me!!! Now, NOTHING. 1% of older country singers has come out pro Trump. All the hot stars are DEAD SILENT. No defense of American values, no little digs at Obama or the Clintons... it’s like the whole industry has been told to Not Make Trouble. I’m really disappointed that conservatives today have to live like gays in the 1950s.
It does seem to be a game amongst celebrities to see which one can say the most outlandish things against Trump.
