The one before that was 1,400,000 million years ago. So they hit on average about once every 700,000 years, give or take 50,000 years.
It is statistically more likely than an extinction level asteroid hit, but still not very likely in our lifetimes.
I hope you're right...and you likely are.
I pray for my children and my new grandchildren that they should live out their lives without seeing the wrath of G-d. But as for myself, I simply don't have the preps to deal with Yellowstone wiping out 2/3 of the people of the world.
It's funny. My family and I were just discussing Noah and the events that led up to him being so famous.
G-d made a covenant with Noah that he would not flood the world again. There was no mention of extinction level geologic events.
