Another cop was placed on administrative leave with pay in the handcuffing of a Utah hospital nurse who refused to take blood from an unconscious patient.

Never settle out of court. The creep cop needs to be drug through all the mud and cactus possible.
He did not arrest her he attacked her.
You could see they were afraid of further provoking the cop. He would have killed everyone there. He was that out of control.
One question... how did we get the body cam footage from both officers so quickly?
Found my own answer... it happened on JUL 26, the video was just released.
Actually he did arrest her. He also handcuffed her and placed her in a police car. When the police restrict your ability to voluntarily leave, they have seized. Being “seized” by the police while not technically arrested is tantamount to arrest. As is being detained. The police are reluctant to say, “You are under arrest for _______[fill in blank] because when they say,”You are under arrest” then your Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment Constitutional Rights kick in. That is when the investigation switches from investigatory to accusatory ones Constitutional Rights kick in. Abe Fortas wrote an informative essay on that. And he did inform her that she was under arrest.
In those situations involving a cdl driver and a fatal crash the post crash drug and alcohol are breath and urine tests (not a blood test) , obtained by the driver’s employer, with a 32 hour window for the drug test.
Law enforcement would only get involved in getting a blood test if there was probable cause.
I’m just describing the manner of his actions. He did attack her and then I’ll take it that he detained her but I never did hear him say you are under arrest for what? Doing her job?
I am not arguing with you but I never heard him say it and I won’t go over the tape again because it makes me sick.
Articles say this clod is on the “blood draw unit”. They have such a thing? Why? I sure would not want him drawing my blood.
If you can stand to watch this link has a set of photos and videos. One is him and a fellow thug justifying what he did.

In the tape he ponders the effect on his side job of ambulance driving saying he will bring the dregs to this hospital and the good people to somewhere else.
Why is the taxpayer still supporting him? He is a creep and a criminal.
Seems the cops were grasping at anything to protect themselves from suits for the accident which was caused by a person they were chasing - bet they would have doctored the blood of the victim to get a reading claiming he was drunk....
Sorry - I don’t know. I am betting we will learn more as this story becomes more transparent.
No it looked like the ED to me in the video. Burn units are deep into hospitals and only at very large ones.
No it was for a blood alcohol test.
That’s why I said “a certain group of citizens”. Didn’t want to have some FR keyboard warrior jumping down my throat.
Here in WV, it was switches for this crime. Guess different messages were used in different locales, but the threat was the same.......and taken to heart.
This story reminds me of a certain very unprofessional police officer named Caleb Nielsen in the Lone Peak police department in Highland, Utah; which is about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. One of these days I shall write up for history what happened and file a complaint with the DEA and IRS. In the meantime I believe that It is because of people like him that we have a terrible opioid crisis growing out of control.
She says she has accepted his apology.
Where did you get that? Officer Thug has issued no apology.
I saw it in a video where she mentioned ‘he’ had apologized,
on further investigation, it appears the ‘he’ was the Police Chief and/or Mayor...
‘A Utah nurse... says she’s accepting apologies from the Salt Lake City mayor and police chief.
Alex Wubbels said in a statement Friday that felt the personal apologies were sincere.
She also says she looks forward to working with them to promote civil dialogue and education.
She says they’re taking the matter seriously and she believes positive change will come out of it.’

Sorry for the confusion
She probably accepted the apologies on the orders of her bishop. I doubt folks get very high up the food chain in Salt Lake City unless they have good standing down at the temple.
