Would Trump lose your support if he caved on DACA?

Posted on 09/01/2017 5:57:18 PM PDT by GAGOP

Since nothing else has passed, this is what would do it for me. I am sick of Republicans. If he does keep DACA before tax reform and border wall, get used to Speaker Pelosi, Senate majority leader Schumer, and president Kamala Harris.

Probably 99.99% of Trump voters don’t know a damn thing about
DACA nor is their life spent worrying about it.

So, those, whose panties are constantly strangling certain body parts re how Trump will lose their support if he doesn’t do X, have zero knowledge of why we voted for Trump.

Ask them to raise their voices, burn up the phone lines to DC. Keep hammering away at ALL elected officials to step up and get this ship on the right course.

LOL...haven't you noticed they don't listen or even pretend to care?

Primary enough of them and we will get their attention...maybe

No.

Even I grew up, as did Governor Perry, with children of Mexicans and wetbacks who were courted and enticed by our government to come across the river for labor.

Parents farm labored mostly, worked in ice houses and jobs in the sun, highways and bridge work. Those kids are now grandparents. They are no threat, but doubtless many remained undocumented and now in this atmosphere cannot be documented.
There are three generations who know no other country but the USA. That’s why they volunteered in our Armed Forces for decades.

This is a fact. BUT, this is all quite different from the DAMNED INVASION Obama orchestrated to rush the border WITH HORDES from ALL OVER SOUTH AMERICA!

These United States of America are the final bastion of freedom, liberty and constitutional rights on this entire planet. When we fall, there is no where else to go. This is it.

In our Oval Office sits a man who isn’t perfect. He isn’t. But if that man loses our support there are no others to fall back on. He is the last hope.

No. My support for Trump will not falter. Not now. Because we’re not out of the woods yet. We are only hanging on by a string and that string can... not ... break.

When it breaks there is no other way up. We will only fall. It would take centuries and billions of lost lives to get back.

I agree with you completely. This country has been allowing people to come here precisely because they were useful. To punish THEM and not the presidents, governors, etc. who ignored them all these years would be totally immoral. The flood of illegals has already been slowed down, and we need to continue to stop it. Cinton and Obama especially were egregiously guilty of encouraging people to come here — for the purposes of the Democrat Party.

I almost wish the President would cave on DACA.

It would help separate the wheat from the chaff with his supporters.

Because what he's done on immigration already has been nothing short of amazing. Not to mention the courage he's shown in areas like the Paris Climate Agreement.

This President has proven he's got the balls to do what he believes is right. It's as if everyone has suddenly forgot the entirety of U.S. Presidential history, and people want to make the perfect the enemy of the good.

So go ahead, sunshine patriots: jump ship if the President doesn't do this one friggin' thing. He's done—or tried to do—virtually everything he possibly could. So if he "caves on DACA", go ahead: STEP OFF!

President Trump doesn't need fair weather supporters with tunnel vision, who lose sight of the bigger picture whenever everything doesn't go exactly their way.

Anyone who has lost their enthusiasm—given what this man has been up against for the last two years—good riddance, because you haven't a clue about what's really important, and whats at stake here. Illegal immigration has been massively curtailed, end legal immigration is being brought under significant control.

So go ahead and throw a childish tantrum about one facet of a much larger issue. Flip on the Glenn Beck show and enjoy being like lukewarm water...

“Holy cow, it’s not Trump failing us, its the swamp in DC. Why would he lose my support? He is the lone outsider trying to get something done.”

Perfect response! I continue to be amazed at the resistance to changing anything that’s coming from both sides, and I am really pi$$ed off at some of the worthless turds Trump has appointed to help him ( and I have to believe the told him they would as a precondition for being appointed) who are now $hitting on him from behind their desks in his administration. And number one on my “hit parade” is that little southern-fried mfer, Sessions. #2 is Kelly, #3 is McMaster. They all need to go, but they will stay because Trump can’t afford to go through the pain of their replacement at this time. I just imagine though, when he does get to come up for air, he will exact some retribution.
And for those of you who view Sessions as “the second coming,” save your breath.

Ask them to raise their voices, burn up the phone lines to DC.

We shouldn't be waiting for Trump to say the words - we should be doing it with gusto now since we already have plenty of reasons to do so (I'm sure my rep is sick of me). It can't all be on Trump's shoulders.

He gains absolutely NOTHING by caving. I’m sure he already knows that.

I would NOT give a second thought to another year of working my fingers to the bone, the phone calls, the packets to drop at doors, to met and greet people to talk about Donald J. Trump...now our 45th POTUS...and I would do more again to put Our President in for a second term...

You either support him, as he knows things that none of us do out here, or you don’t...but if you don’t...then get off the Trump Train because it will run you over!!!

GO.PRESIDENT TRUMP.GO!!! MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

Nope. Campaign promises are always at the behest of reality at the time. He defeated Clinton, put Gorsuch on the Court, has slowed illegal immigration and the economy is starting to chug along. I do think he will still cancel DACA, but I think there’s more happening behind the scenes which is why this is dragging out....possibly setting a trap for RINOs such as Ryan and Flake, etc., who are showing their true colors on this subject. And in comes Bannon back at Bteitbart to pummel them which he could not do the same while working at the WH.
