I’ve read it twice, once as a youngster and once in my adult years. It’s not any kind of “propaganda”. It’s simply stating the truth, that children, and especially boys, without adult supervision and adult role models will be dominated by their natural savagery and wickedness.
It puts a lie to the oft repeated claim that children are “naturally good”.

It was a repudiation of the "Noble Savage" ideal and the idea that it was society that corrupted people from their "pure and gentle state".
This savagery comes out differently in females then in males. If they want to have "Queen of the Bees" they are going to have to write a whole new book not just call Ralph, Rhonda.
I believe it was called "Mean Girls."
Thank you for the synopsis from more trusted sources (yourselves). Earlier, after having read what others had to say (like the comments under the article behind the link above this thread), I recalled the many news stories over the past few years of girls and women beating the tar out of each other and committing atrocities. Strange times.
I usually avoid such movies (too downbeat) but might have a look.

It’s been said it is a book about the inherent sin nature of man but I think it was really about English boarding schools.
