WINDERMERE, Fla. (Orlando Suburb) —
The wife of a man allegedly caught on camera smashing his way into a home Windermere told police they were at a swingers' club at the time of the burglary.
Police said tips from the public lead them to identifying one of the men involved in the crime as John Fitzpatrick.
Authorities said they went to a mobile phone repair shop owned by Fitzpatrick and his wife, Suzy, to meet with the woman.
Suzy Fitzpatrick was asked by police to view the surveillance video John was allegedly captured on and stated to police "that time, we was at a swingers' club."
Authorities said Suzy later changed her story, telling detectives the pair were at "Ranch 4 Play" a swingers' club in Eustis earlier in the evening but said they were kidnapped by gunpoint after returning to their repair shop, being forced by three men to participate in the burglary.
Fitzpatrick then contacted her husband, according to police, and told him she spoke with investigators.
John Fitzpatrick corroborated the story that his wife gave detectives. John told police he did not know the men who confronted him and forced him to participate in the burglary.
Detectives though said the couple was lying about being forced into the burglary.
After reviewing the security footage and listening to an audio recording during the burglary, detectives said John knew the other men and was a willing participant.
Suzy Fitzpatrick was charged with armed burglary and grand theft, her husband was arrested in Mississippi.
Detectives have not yet identified the other man seen in the surveillance video.
No great news value in the story itself..... just an illustration of life in the Redneck part Central Florida..... at the shallow end of the gene pool!

If I read that part correctly, then there’s a fair good probability that they’ve been playing the ID theft game too.
The bad news is that if she wants the other people there to identify her...they will have to be shown parts of her other than her face.
John Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzjohn were among those participating at Club McSwingers.
Actually Windermere is a pretty nice town in Central Florida.
It’s Home to such names as Tiger Woods, Weslie Snipes and.... never mind, you may have a point ;- )
