Speaking as somone who took gymnastics and karate...that is just WRONG!
You are never to force that!
... you are probably right... I hadn’t thought of that.
I am sort of torn here (no pun intended).
I do believe in “tuff love” and that sometimes you need to “force” people a certain amount to draw the best out of them... but this might have crossed the line upon further reflection.

Fifty years ago gymnastics wasn’t as competitive as it is now. Neither was cheerleading.

Being able to do the splits is part of the gig. But if the new girl or guy is not already able to do them they have to work at it a while and loosen up. You can’t just force them in to position.
Years ago, gator. My daughter (now 30) broke her collarbone when her handlers didn’t catch her during one of their routines. She was in 8th grade at the time. She switched to the drill team with much better results.
In the same way that it’s becoming rare to see a victim fight back against a school bully (because of the obvious punishment the victim gets along with the tormentor), I think that speaking up or walking away from something like that has most likely been trained out or shamed out of kids today.

That video was hard to watch - akin to someone being tortured.
All the while, coach Ozell Williams is shown holding down each girl’s shoulders, and pushing them down further.
It was the coach and 2 others holding down one of the girls. The girl being tortured (that's what it was) is white, and the three torturing her are black.
And they are laughing hysterically at her pain and agony.
I am sure they are just teaching her to "Check her Privilege."
I could NOT finish watching this. Torture. That’s what they were doing to this girl. I hope the family sues all of them. And I think it was done on purpose to hurt her.
Bull. Training for this is something done over a long period of time.
THESE are cheerleaders, not the flat-chested short little mutants colleges have these days.
I was in a motor cycle training exercise when I was ordered to perform a maneuver that I didn’t think possible/safe due to speed/path of travel, etc.. the certificate wasn’t worth the risk, so I parked it and watched from the sidelines.
they ended the exercise and it was discovered that the instructors got the exercise wrong. myself. and the other candidates ran a serious risk of injury and/or damage to our bikes. during our exchange, I pointed out that this was a safety class, not a high performance class.
the correct exercise was figured out, and we all went through it and we all passed. you never put someone through an exercise they are not ready for
The girls helping to hurt her were enjoying it.
I’ll let those with experience with this chime in. I see a girl in a lot of pain begging people to let her go.
I couldn’t help but notice that too. It appeared that he picked her up and threw her down.
I am pretty sure the high school I graduated from is no where near like it was back then.
