I’ve heard that a lot of short wave broadcasters are going digital and you have to get a special receiver to hear them.

There used to be an IRC and Yahoo FR chat rooms, but they didn’t get much traffic.
Yahoo changed/dropped chatrooms years ago. I have not use IRC in years, so I don’t know which network had or might still have the FR chat room.

Well, I am currenty studying for my technicians license (entry level) Just got a radio, Yaesu FT 60R hand held. Tonight I was listening to a net call in located out of Newport Oregon with call ins from Arizona, Oregeon and California. Brand new in all of this so we will see what happens.
