Pollack: 'If Trump 'Pulls an Arnold Schwarzenegger,' He Will Struggle To Be Reelected
PJ Media ^ | 08-19-2017 | Michael van der Galien

In an interview with MSNBC, Breitbart senior editor Joel Pollak has made clear that Donald Trump can't take his website's support for granted.

"If he pulls an Arnold Schwarzenegger and tries to reinvent himself as a liberal, he will see that support erode very, very quickly, and he will struggle politically, I think, to make the case for reelection in 2020," Pollak made the comments after it was announced that former (and now current) Breitbart.com chief Steve Bannon was removed from his position as Trump's Chief Strategist.

There can be little doubt that Pollak is right. From old-school conservatives who demanded a candidate with the balls to say what nobody else dared say, to the 'alt-right', and to Democrats who simply detest the Clintons - all passionately supported Trump last year, but they did so because they thought he truly was an outsider; a man who refused to play the usual establishment games and who would stick to his guns no matter what. If he now governs like, say, Gary Cohn would, well, let's just say that these voters aren't the type of people who'll put up with that. The primary reason they supported Trump is that they felt betrayed by the establishment.

Let’s see if there are crowd chants of “Bannon” at next week’s rally.

If there isn’t an Obamacare rollback and a good start on a border fence by next January the republicans will get stomped in the 2018 midyear elections and take even more of a beating in 2020.

If republicans don’t get behind the president and start making good on campaign promises I think this presidency will be the last gasp for republicans before a permanant democrat dynasty takes over and finishes the “fundamental transformation” that Barack Obama promised.

Personally I think there are a lot of RINO ‘republicrats’ who would trade the country to the devil and the democrats just to screw president Trump.

They are part of the embedded deep state and resent him for trying to change the ‘good-old-boy’ system that takes care of them and their financial supporters rather well.

Trump will need to lose if he becomes another Schwarzenegger. It will be a great big f**k you to the 63 million patriotic souls that voted for him and they should be honored bound to return the insult by voting him out.

That was one of my early fears, but it hasn’t materialized, yet. Hope it never will.

As Rush and others have observed... the only person who cans separate Trump from his supporters is himself. Arnold was much like Trump in his unlikely victory. Once in office he had no friends in the CalSwamp, endured much vitriol and had no legislative help. He buckled under the pressure. Liberal wife Maria didn’t help either... when the Hollywood party invitations dried up he was done IMHO.

President Trump (IMHO2)... should lay out it his situation to his voters: “I’m in the swamp and you see what’s happening... your votes are to be negated. The most sad of all; our own GOP seems cowards, their 8-years of promises false, what is it they fear worse than their own voters? They have not only betrayed me, but worse... you who voted them into office. With this situation, I will do what’s in my power as POTUS to move our country forward... but it is made much harder when your own party sells out and stands against you. God bless America MAGA.”

Keep in mind it was quite a fight from Deplorables to stop the horrible stuff about AG Sessions, including President Trump criticizing him. I don't think many Deplorables are against President Trump for that, but only because he backed off. I do think we lost a lot of confidence when President Trump went after his most loyal supporter, who went through hell to get confirmed.

Keeping it real. One reason that some voters went for President Trump, in the primaries and in the election, is because we're fed up with dynasties. Maybe keep Jared on the staff, for his analytic and computer skills. But Ivanka should go.

Well let’s see. McMaster,Powell, Cohen,Ivanka,Jared. This a Rat administration. Not one of these people is for the wall. 3 of the 5 are known carbon taxers. Rex is promising diversity to the State staff.Looks kinda bad to me.

It just goes to show that “you’re fired” is more than just a catch phrase in an old reality show, it’s the core of his managment style. Trump demands absolute loyalty but gives none in return. So long to Bannon and his philosophy.

Actually if Trump would come out Tuesday and say he will not run or accept the Republican nomination for President in 2020 and is leaving the Republican Party to start a third party and will run under an independent banner and he will work with anyone that wants to better America, he would win re-election in a landslide and he would decimate the Republican party.

Trump supporters are just becoming more resolute as the media, Democrats and GOPe continue their Never Trump ways.

I would hold your comment until we see what Bannon unleashed looks like.

I'm betting the Democrat and GOPe aren't going to like him at Brightbart.

Who cares what an on-line magazine thinks. Sheesh! Everybody thinks they can run this president. Well, they can't. He's his own man and his instincts while not idealogical are profoundly conservative. Only a conservative would have condemned the left after Charlottesville.
