I just counted up the number of blocked number I have so far.
Over 90.
Yet these bastards just use another telephone number and they keep on robocalling.
The FCC must stop this!
Nearly every caller ID displayed with these telemarketing scammers is a FAKE number anyway -
If it were up to me, I would arrest these scumbags, put them in a sound proof room and play hip-hop music so loud , their eardrums would burst.
I got a call last Friday from India? Caller id showed as “Invalid number” “Is this Mr Mark”? I had the time so he spent about 1 minute of him asking if I have hip pain or knee pain( knee replacement ALMOST all free). I kept him going and finally he wanted my medical insurance policy number. I told him I would get my card from my file cabinet. He said “okay”. I set the phone down and after close to 25 minutes, he said “Hello?” a few times and hung up. This time wasted kept him from calling a few others.
Well, he called again on Monday and Tuesday and I held him on some more. Finally he called on Wednesday to see if I found that card. My wife answered and screamed at him, stating “This is a hospice house full of dying patients”. That did the trick.
In the old days, a phrase I use more often these days, we didn’t have this much of a problem because nearly all calls were long distance. You had local long distance, if it was across town, and then out of area long distance. Telemarketers were limited in their reach. They weren’t going to pay for a WATS line and they could only reach a small number of people for free. We need a way to require that telemarketers have to pay $1 or so for every call they make. When a number is reported, that number is charged for every call it makes. Let the phone companies keep half, the rest goes to the US.
For IP phone calls, it would be a little tougher. How about they just get shut down if they don’t have a way to track their marketing calls? Probably not possible, those guys are pretty clever.
the ONLY thing that will work is to find their physical location and kick some @$$!
