The pharmacy that sells Oxycodone LIED about its addictive effects. It’s already paid 600 million in fines with MANY more to come.
People need to do SOME research on this subject before commenting.
ALSO, Oxy was originally ONLY for cancer patients but then the powers that be got greased enough to make basically synthetic heroin available for EVERYONE.
You unknowingly take a brutally addictive drug, then get addicted, then years later, when congress, only because they’re afraid of losing their jobs, makes it near impossible to get oxy, you turn to heroin, which is MUCH cheaper and easier to get.
Roxys go for 40 dollars a pill.
12 years ago I was offered 2000 dollars for a bottle of Roxys I had. I said no. I dont sell death.
It cost ME 5 bucks because I only had a copay.
How many people are going to say no to a multi thousand percent profit?
Not enough.
And now that they’re near impossible to get (except from law breaking doctors who sell scripts) heroin is the replacement drug of choice.
For some reason, the most I ever got was a 5 or 10 minute high off of them, and even I knew that WASN’T NORMAL to get that feeling from a SAFE DRUG!!
Stopped using rather quickly cause it didn’t help the pain at all and those 10 minute highs scared me.
I’m with you, brother.
You are right on every point.
However, what makes you and I smart enough to stay away from that crap while our neighbors eat it like M&M’s?
Are we that much smarter or do we just have better discipline?
My father volunteers with hospice. He delivers hospital beds and home care supplies at four in the morning, because if the junkies see a hospital bed being delivered, the house becomes a target. They know that if they see that bed, the house has Oxy.
Even with terminal cancer patients, the drug still gets to the market.
I was prescribed some a few years ago... made me sick to my stomach.. so never really took more than a couple. I never noticed the “high” though...
Thanks for the informative post and the history of Oxcodone as far as how it used to be prescribed. I have always tried to avoid painkillers out of fear of ending up in an addictive situation.
One time years ago I was prescribed these pills for some dental surgery I had. I took the prescription but I was able to manage my pain on Advil so the pills went to the back of my medicine cabinet and were forgotten about.
A while later, I had a family gathering at my house and a family member, who I know had an addiction problem, politely asked me if she could take them since I wasn’t using them. She said that she already had a prescription but that she would save some money by using mine. I said that I did not feel comfortable doing that and as soon as I was able, I got to the bathroom and put the bottle of pills in a safe place.
Well sometime later, I was doing some purging as we were moving to a new house and I found the pills. Before throwing them away, I opened the bottle to look inside and was shocked to see that there were Tylenol pills in there! Only thing I can think of is that the family member substituted them after I told her no...very sneaky.

Off label usage basically turned this into a epidemic.
