Celebrity chefs are everywhere. They host reality TV shows, judge cooking competitions, publish cookbooks, and open their own restaurants. Along the way, many of them ruffle a few feathers. Many celebrity chefs are genuinely talented. But some have polarizing personalities. Some have boring shows and lackluster recipes. And others are, plain and simple, badly overrated. Read on to check out the celebrity chefs everybody sometimes including their fellow chefs loves to hate.More
From bleached hair to bowling shirts, Guy Fieri is, without a doubt, one of the most hated celebrity chefs of all time. But what exactly is it that causes droves of people to disdain the seemingly happy-go-lucky guy in the first place? From his brash personality to his lackluster restaurant in NYC, reviews of Fieri fall flat. Here are 14 reasons why this chef is nothing but a culinary catastrophe.More
Yes. But much. More subdued.
At some point, the Food Network got a new president, a woman, that turned it away from “how-to” to “entertainment”. There’s a book about the birth and growth up to a point.
They have so many with grating personalities on Food Network. Flat, Fieri, etc. I’m just afraid that Jason Smith from Food Network Stars is going to join them. Love me Mary Berry from GBBS! Christian lady, no less.
Not really. Probably not on my list interests at the time.
Remember Roger Mudd? He and Dan Rather were competing to replace Cronkite. Mudd simply asked POTUS candidate Ted Kennedy "Why do you want to be president?" Sent Kennedy into a stuttering mess.
Definitely Mario Batali. He looks positively disgusting. I wouldn’t want him handling my food.
Rhee Drummond’s voice makes me nuts. As soon as I see and hear her, off goes the tv.
I found her blog before she made it big. Even back then there was no way she could have homeschooled her kids, run a ranch, keep a business running, etc. I found the whole production to be very sensationalized. She might have some good recipes, but I refuse to patronize her products. Too Hollywood for me.
That is one seriously messed up situation, to put it mildly.
Rachel was cute when she did the travel on 3 bucks a day show (or whatever that was). I don’t like her cooking show, but I do have an RR cookbook...hardly use it though!
I used to watch Billy Ruiz on RFD. His show was Cowboy Flavor and he cooked pioneer style on Dutch ovens with a California/Spanish/Western flair. He always stayed true to his roots and style.
She did federal time for Social Security Fraud. Don't put your money laundering business on TV. LOL
Guy who? Never watch any of these people.
Except: I enjoy Gordon Ramsey, liked Rachel Ray in her early days.
And thoroughly enjoy the Great British Baking Show, whoever they are.
And anyone from NOLA.
Ok so we got the most hated, how about the most adored?
Giada de Laurentiis, mama mia...
So, Fieri (Ferry) changed his name, so did Michael Marion Morrison (John Wayne), Frances Gumm (Judy Garland) and Maurice Micklewhite (Michael Caine).
I enjoy his showmanship and most of his interaction with the owners/chefs/cooks. And it gives me ideas about what other folks eat and what I might try in an area I am traveling to or through. Just like i’ve visited a couple of places that Adam Rich visited on his original ‘man vs food.’
I like Gordon Ramsay. The rest are can’t stand annoying.
I don’t think I’ve watched the food network in almost 10 years. It was really awful then, I can’t imagine how bad it is now.
Graham Kerr eventually became a Christian after his run of shows ended.
Far left porker.
Now that you mention it, I do remember that. He gave up drinking too.
