Stupid headline. Putin is the President of Russian, not the Premier.
Is it just me, or does the article feel like a poor translation from a foreign language source?
Thank you for clarifying that. I thought when I started to read that I would see Medvedev’s (sp?) name. Then, when I didn’t, I assumed that I had gotten the two titles confused.
Premier doesn’t mean the Prime Minister. It means The First or “the Head Honcho”. I think it is a world play as the Soviets rulers were called “the Premier” in the west, but their official title was something like “General Secretary” even though the sight of these secretaries in short skirts would not have been appealing.
