Indeed. New York Accents are very similar to Boston Accents, in that one can pinpoint the Burrough or Neighborhood from which it originates.
Since I had only one friend from Boston, I couldn’t compare it with anything else.
We had one guy from Rhode Island, and his accent was condescending and snooty sounding....................
