Good point... any speaker plugged into a mic jack becomes a microphone.

Same mechanical make-up. A coil and a magnet. Same as an electric motor.

Many years ago I rigged an intercom from the house to the barn. Loudspeakers at both ends, doubling as Mike and speaker. Audio amplifier in the house, with switches to switch the speakers from output to input of the amplifier. Worked very well.
