The proud British owner of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia had one hour to enjoy his $260,000 luxury vehicle this week before it was turned into a flaming pile of twisted metal. South Yorkshire Police responding to an accident on Thursday found themselves staring at the charred remains of a black Ferrari and the owner miraculously alive with a few cuts and bruises in a local field.

And that’s why I drive a KIA, when not cruising in my 1958 Impala.

Deserves life imprisonment. That Ferrari Scuderia is worth more than his life.

I know a guy who worked at an import dealer who destroyed the body on a Porche Boxter that had six miles on the odometer.

I guess when they told him he bought a “scud” that he figured he bought a missile.

And thats why I drive a KIA, when not cruising in my 1958 Impala. My dad had a 1958 Biscayne when I was a kid. Cool car but up here in WNY, the winters were tough on it and the metal over the top of the headlights rusted out. BTW, I drive a Mazda CX5, it's enough "Zoom Zoom" for me! :-)

Authorities said on their Facebook page that the car went airborne due to wet roads.Gotta watch out for those British raindrops. They can be as big as semi trailer loading ramps and make your car go airborne in a blink.

The famous Gull Wing Mercedes had a reputation as a death trap. They also didn’t corner very well.

Similar to the Corvair’s problem.
Rear-engined cars will do that...it’s just physics.

Note that the $260k he spent was for a USED car! Last year was 2009.

The main thing is that the owner/driver escaped with minor cuts and bruises, as was reported.
Obviously he has enough money to buy another similar car.

530 horsies. Wet road. Bad news. Gets 16 mpg on the highway. Well, it did.

I can remember in the early sixties watching race prepared 300SL converts and Gullwings racing in SCCA. Beautiful.

In the 1980s I had this beat up Lincoln continental that had brakes that locked up the wheels whenever you hit them which made me the current world champion of car accidents, nobody will ever break my record in a 10000 years. I was nuts, I must have had 50 accidents in the span of a month before the car was totalled. (American quality) I even hit three cars at once at the same time. I was coming to a traffic light while it was raining, 3 cars were in front of me, one in the left lane one in the middle lane and one in the right and when I hit the brakes my car skidded sideways to the left, complete 90 degrees skid and the back of my car slammed into the car on the right, the passenger side slammed into the middle car and the front slammed into the car on the left. STTTTTEEERRRRRRIIIIIKE!!!!
