Being an art school grad I enjoy Warhol but am amused that it’s such a big, big deal now. It was all a put-on, Warhol knew it. The whole thing was tantamount to what some would call a larp these days.

Alice Cooper wasn’t all that a big thing for me, he has a couple cool songs I guess. There are a few LA Punk bands that remind me a bit of AC in some way that I was a big fan of at the time and still enjoy. In particular, your comment about a car collection made me think of Social Distortion and Mike Ness.

The thing with cooper was he was an innovator- performing rap before rap was cool- shock rock like noone’s business- theatrical rock- big hair- makeup etc-

A lot of rock stars give him props for paving the way for various genre style rock and roll from which their styles evolved

He hit the scene at just the right time- when kids began rebelling more against authorities- school- govenrment etc- 20 years earlier and he might not have succeeded- likely wouldn’t have-

His rock wasn’t for everyone- some of his stuff was really sick- for which he later apologized and vowed to to delve into anymore-

He even did a show with the muppets characters- If anyone could make the muppets appear creepy- it was him lol-
