I can’t STAND Capaldi as The Doctor. He was good as Frobisher in the multi-part episode of Torchwood, ‘Children of Earth’, but as The Doctor he’s lefty-politically-preachy and comes off as old and dour.

I liked David Tennant and Matt Smith as 10 and 11. They brought some energy and humor to the role. Clara I actually liked too.

They’re really pushing the gay stuff, too. No, every third person on the planet isn’t gay.

Well, everyone has their own opinions. I think Capaldi’s the best of the Doctors from the new series (Eccleston, Tennant, Smith). There’s a lot more depth, ambiguity, and character development in his Doctor and his episodes seem like they’re made for a more mature audience than the earlier ones. It’s just my opinion, but Eccleston was too goofy for me, Tennant too soap-opera-ish, and Smith too childish, even though there are many episodes that I really did like them in. Beyond that, I love that Capaldi’s so Classic Doctor like. The old series was a great show done on a shoe-string budget.

I definitely don’t like all the lefty nonsense they’ve increasingly added to the show, but they’ve been pushing the gay stuff since the revival in 2005. Remember Captain Jack was bi.

Capaldi's acting was fine and we were overdue for an older Doctor.

It was the writing that ruined his tenure, they tried to make his Doctor "hip" and "zany" and they wanted to constantly pandering to SJW's and promote leftist politics on the show.

He's the "Timothy Dalton" of the Doctor Who franchise. Great casting choice who inherited the role at exactly the WRONG time, when the franchise was at its weakest.

I stopped watching after 2016. Having his co-star being a ugly black lesbian with a man's name was the last straw for me. Casting a woman in the title role seems mild in comparison. But after 50+ years of the character being a man, it smacks of desperation at this point. Good luck trying to create "buzz" for that.
