My husband is a veterinarian and has to often removed dead (and rotting) calves out of cattle and worse. But he says the WORST case he ever had was when a rather obese and less than attractive woman brought in her sick dog, which seemed to have a blockage of some type. Nothing would get the mass moving so surgery was scheduled. The dog had eaten the owner’s USED tampons. He still gets nauseous when relating that story.
I had a rat terrier who loved to eat used Q-tips. She would go thru the trash in the bathroom looking for them....used Kleenex was her second favorite....bad dog!
You know.. I have heard stories about this especially when toxic shock syndrome and tampons was the rage twenty or so years ago.
I routinely work around cattle with oozing abscesses and I usually gag when the stench overtakes my nostrils. I used to pack mentholatum in my nostrils when I was a student taking gross anatomy in school.
I salute your BIL for his chosen profession. I couldn’t do it.
Wonder if dogs get picas.
Reminds me of one musket retrieved from the Gettysburg battlefield had 23 minie balls loaded into it. The soldier didn’t realize it had misfired and kept trying to load it.
