Camera flashes popped as the bus-sized pig floated over the Amalie Arena crowd, splashed with Donald Trumps yowling mug and phrases like Welcome to the Machine I Won and Piggy Bank of War.
Subtle political commentary, this was not. Then again, subtle was never Roger Waters style. The Pink Floyd masterminds worldview may be as grim and dystopian as ever, judging from his spectacular, effects-laden concert Tuesday night in Tampa. But if America truly is going to hell in a handbasket, as Waters seems to believe, at least hes giving it a proper, stadium-style send-off. [ ]
Waters and his band roared through Dogs, play-acting a farcical classist nightmare by donning pig masks and sipping champagne. Then came Pigs (Three Different Ones), which brought the anti-Trump pig blimp and a flood of savage graphics on the screen: Trumps head on a pigs body, a teeny Trump hoisted by Vladimir Putin, more than a dozen ire-inducing quotes attributed to the president (The beauty of me is that Im very rich, for example; or Even if the world goes to hell in a handbasket, I wont lose a penny). The video ended with four words: TRUMP IS A PIG. A few fans lobbed boos and catcalls in the silence that followed, but many more howled in applause. Then, on Money, more footage: Trump and Putin and Jeff Sessions, sports cars and beauty pageants and gold, Trumps casinos alongside the Kremlin. Waters was drawing a line in the sand on one of Pink Floyds biggest hits: Pout and boo all you want, but this is where I stand. If you stand with me, sing along.

Who is Roger Waters?
How ordinary.
WHO?
A buddy of mine saw him in Denver last month. Says it's an incredible show once you get past all the Trump-bashing (which should be expected from Waters).
Oh, gee. A gimmicky English performer who doesn’t like our president. How relevant! And how novel!
Yawwwwwwnnnnn ...
Who?
(moving on — no response cared for)
No doubt he’ll keep up his drumbeat for boycotting Israel too.
So, he took time out from his Israel hating to hate on Trump? How refreshing.
Who cares what he thinks? And every other show business types for that matter. He’s not changing minds, only getting through to die hard liberals who already hate DJT.
Since Roger is “blasting Donald Trump” during his “eye-popping concert,” I guess they won’t be talking about Roger’s long-standing and blatant anti-Semitism.
Hey Woger Water's: Please progressively amuse yourself to death - or just ESAD/FOAD, because, per the Naturally Selective order of things...
XX + XX = FAIL
XY + XY = FAIL
XX + XY = Human
...if you do - you WILL!
Vile anti-Semite.
Hint to aging used-to-be-real-popular musicians: if you have to include political and cultural content in your performances, your music sucks.
I have been a Pink Floyd fan for 40+ years.
But, Waters is a tool.
Who? So?
No, that was a different band. ;-)
He hates the system, Trump is going against the system, he hates Trump. There’s your Hegelian dystopia.
So, basically, he’s gotten over the death of his father and found a new source of inspiration?
