The recent article by Dr. Daniel Fine in the guest column of your Wednesday edition concerning the impacts of Saudi Arabian-led dismantlement of our lively domestic energy business via flooding the market with underpriced foreign crude from numerous Middle Eastern national oil companies along with other foreign producers like bad actor Venezuelan and Russian puppet oil regime cronies are making for difficulty in our New Mexican oil patch.

Uh, oil prices have only gone down because of US production increases.
We broke the back of OPEC. It’s not the other way around.
A popular poster for The Three Stooges features the Stooges as bumbling members of such a firm, although the actual episodes use the name "Dewey, Burnham, and Howe". The 2012 film uses this example, among similar ones such as proctologists "Proba, Keister, and Wince" and divorce lawyers "Ditcher, Quick, and Hyde."

Please guarantee our profits. We will say anything. Well hydrocarbons are abundant and cheap. If the US will simply stay out of the way and not regulate and tax to death our domestic producers the foreign actors will not be able to manipulate the markets. But hydrocarbons will be a low margin cut throat business. Want high prices? Fall for the we been robbed by the Sauds, err it’s national security, oh it’s jobs, routine and we will have higher prices.
So NM done went and spent the money that $100pb provided and now that prices have dropped they are whining and want an oil consumer bailout. How about spending less? How did NM get so much oil money anyway?
No no no, no to restrictions on oil imports. It’s a really dumb idea that would have to be coupled with another dumb idea of restricting oil exports. Which we just got rid of.
If US consumers and businesses get worried enough they will find alternatives. Like COAL. But of course the oil and gas lobby have terms up wit the greenies to kill it.
