Hemingway had a strong attachment to a small northern Michigan community known as Horton's Bay and was an avid fly fisherman there.
In the 50's, my uncle chartered a sailboat in Cuba where he met Hemingway who knew his grandfather (my great grandfather) who owned a Buick garage in Horton Bay and Hemingway spent much time there whenever he ventured into northern Michigan.......

I wrote my master’s thesis on Brett Ashley. I really love Hemingway. He wrote his women with more life then the men.

Can she be described as a Christian, after all that boozing, promiscuity, and the likely abortions? Yes, if she repents and professes with her mouth that Jesus Christ died for her sins and was resurrected in victory over death and sin, she'd be forgiven. She'd still have to answer to worldly authorities, though, if she'd broken any laws.

Sat at his typewriter? Hemingway mostly typed while standing.
