Socialism’s Future May Be Its Past

One hundred years after Lenin’s sealed train arrived at Finland Station and set into motion the events that led to Stalin’s gulags, the idea that we should return to this history for inspiration might sound absurd. But there was good reason that the Bolsheviks once called themselves “social democrats.” They were part of a broad movement of growing parties that aimed to fight for greater political democracy and, using the wealth and the new working class created by capitalism, extend democratic rights into the social and economic spheres, which no capitalist would permit.

And yet the left keeps trying to pass itself off as being caring and compassionate. They are none of that. (Hence, my FR name.)

Marxism isn't very appealing to the average "Joe" so some "professors" from Germany came to the United States and sweetened it up a bit:

The Frankfurt School

The Frankfurt School (German: Frankfurter Schule) is a school of social theory and philosophy associated in part with the Institute for Social Research at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Founded during the interwar period, the School consisted of dissidents who felt at home in none of the existent capitalist, fascist, or communist systems of the time. Many of these theorists believed that traditional theory could not adequately explain the turbulent and unexpected development of capitalist societies in the twentieth century. Critical of both capitalism and Soviet socialism, their writings pointed to the possibility of an alternative path to social development.

Bhaskar should preach it in Venezuela.

They’re eating cats there.

“...which no capitalist would permit.”

In a free society, no capitalist can prevent anyone else from exercising their rights. What an idiotic comment.

Someone says the country needs Socialism to fix things, I say, “Really? You think mass murder will solve our problems? Interesting.”

In No Place to Hide, Grathwohl explains that the Weathermen actually believed that they would be successful in overthrowing the U.S. government and that, with the help of the Cubans, Chinese, Russians, and North Vietnamese, they would occupy America. Americans would have to be "re-educated" in camps, similar to what the communists did in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and other countries they had taken over. Here is one of the chilling revelations Larry Grathwohl made in the film:

I asked, "Well what is going to happen to those people we can't reeducate, that are diehard capitalists?" And the reply was that they'd have to be eliminated.

And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers.

And when I say "eliminate," I mean "kill."

Twenty-five million people.

I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people and they were dead serious.

Thank you for this...

My grandfather, a watchmaker in Ukrainia, saw the writing on the wall and came to this country in the late 1920s.

His bride joined him when he got a job and lodging. They sold her parents farm in Poland, her parents were deceased. But what was worse was that all of her brothers left to fight in the War and never came back. It was just her and a sister and they couldn’t take care of the farm on their own. My grandfather was an intellectual AND had a trade, so he had no interest in farming or getting his hands dirty!

Her sister moved to Warsaw as she didn’t want to live here. Somehow, she survived WWII. My grandmother sent her money-cash-her whole life- she lived to be 93.
My grandmother didn’t hear from her for quite a while, she managed to send a telegram to her; her sister wrote her right away. It seems that she didn’t receive any letters until after the War because the postman was opening up mail looking for cash. He stole everyone’s money and just threw out the letters. They found PILES of them behind his place, but he was nowhere to be found.

Anyway, thank you for posting; I am very proud of my heritage and my grandparents would never tell us how hard it was for them over there- or here! They NEVER complained because they were very happy to become Americans and live “the American Dream”.

The author has obviously never heard of the early Jamestown settlers and their failed experiment with communism.

After wading through that diarrhea of the mouth, this is his vision of his new utopia.

“Our 21st-century Finland Station won’t be a paradise. You might feel heartbreak and misery there. But it will be a place that allows so many now crushed by inequity to participate in the creation of a new world.”

These are the intellectual dwarfs are what populate the Slimes.

The future of socialism is the same as socialism’s past - murder, misery, tyranny, and oppression, except for a small, elite few at the top of the dung heap.

One size of government doesn't fit all. Centralized planning/socialism is necessary for life in the high density big city communes. Where communists always go wrong is forcing central planning also on the suburban factories and farms. That never works.

Leftists need to settle for total control over the cities and leave alone the productive people that feed them.

The five pillars of Communism/Socialism: Lies, Envy, Hatred, Theft, Murder. The fool author already had everything he claims to want in 1950’s America. As to his claims of diversity of thought, any of you leftists out there try this experiment. Tell your group of “friends” that you have changed your mind about abortion and have become pro life. They will dump you then attack you unmercifully on social media. The tolerant left what a complete lie. The murderous left is the honest truth.
