There are specific parts of our economy which have not been taken over by China.
Food. Food is very much an American product.
We buy a lot of food, because everyone needs it every single day. Most of it is grown right in the US.
So we do not have a deficit of food.
Oil we are pretty well set up with.

However you are wrong about “one child”. That was ended several years ago.
And our trade deficit with China is simply MASSIVE. Go into any retail store, in any city, in any state in America.
Pick up something and look:
“Made in China”.
Go to hardware. Look at all the tools.
“Made in China”.
Clothes?
“Made in China”. Though there are now some countries under-cutting even China now for clothes.
Look at appliances.
“Made in China”.
Look at sporting goods.
“Made in China”.

OK. I am aok with the fact we all have our own opinions. You do not agree, with mine. I’m fine with that.
But I was very early, right on this website, for Trump. I think my opinion is representative in some ways, of a good segment of Trump’s core of support.
I supported Trump as our candidate, when lots here were for Cruz, or any of the other candidates.
And lots were. Nope, I have been for Trump the entire time. But I am still waiting, disappointed a bit, by the lack of progress on global trade, and the US Border.
They were the two biggest issues, for me.
And we haven’t yet done much, on either one. Which is really permanent.
Sure illegal immigrants are way down.
They could be way up, the first week of any other administration. And they will be.
Unless Trump gets started on building the wall.
It is also, why a lot of cross-over voters supported Trump this time.
And global trade. What part of the current situation, is good? We need to bring back American manufacturing.

India has taken over manufacturing many things that you complain about, as well as quite a few other countries. China lost that stronghold long ago and it has less than NOTHING at all to do with with President Trump!

Shoes? Do you even know that there was a time when one could buy shoes, made in America, with multiple lasts? Do you even know what a "last" is? Since I doubt that you do, a "last" is what the front and the heel of a shoe used to come in...i.e. a double A with a triple A heel, or a D with a double E heel and everything in between and on either side; not just "narrow", "medium", or "wide".
Now you have to order a "bespoke" ( made to measure ) shoe to get that and they don't make them in China anymore, either!
And it's not just America....other countries no longer make what they once did; even some things that they were well known for. WHY? Unions, crazy government laws/rules, and the fact that more and more people don't mind buying crap these days. Hell, they don't even know what something "good" is and they also do NOT want to pay for that!
And there is absolutely NOTHING that President Trump can do about that; nothing, whatsoever !

But he really, really needs to know, there are some of us out here, who are waiting for him to do something about the wall, and about our global trade situation.
Those are two very big issues.
Trump is fighting. He is trying to make good on every campaign promise. And in doing so, he is exposing the frauds in politics and the media.

He got rid of TPP and his trade negotiator Lighthouzer just got sworn in. He was the last cabinet member to get approved. He has already started renegotiating trade deals. But the trade deficit is already falling due to increases in manufacturing.
