My personal opinion of the Germans is in the tank as well. I have no respect for a gaggle of fem Euros who don’t have enough testosterone to stand up to muslim invaders raping their women.
The media scrambled and is trying “Germany hates us” to replace the failed “muh Russia” narrative.
Paying attention to the ruminations of a society that’s fast-tracking itself to life under Shariah law is a waste of time.

This is not surprising. I’ve watched and read a fair amount of coverage about Trump in the German media, and it is laughable propaganda. Our media in the U.S. is horrible, but the Germans are literally at Goebbels-levels with their insanely distorted, one-sided, misleading, and often out-right fabricated “news” about Trump—all for political purposes. It’s like they are in an alternate reality, where they believe they know what’s actually going on here, while they have no clue. Unfortunately, most German people tend to go along with whatever their authority figures tell them.

Lol! I only check on Germany occasionally to make sure they aren’t invading anyone. After 100 years of aggression the Germans should STFU for another 20 years at least.

Oh, public confidence in the US has “plunged?” What about confidence in being safe and secure in their own country? Sounds as if that’s “plunged,” too, what with reports of widespread illegal gun purchases out of fear. The news reached Twilight Zone levels of weird back during the election and hasn’t let up since. Who do they think they’re fooling? Well, I know the answer to that, Germans for one. US Democrat voters, for another.
So what?! Two world wars and socialism/liberalism have emasculated/hysterectomied the once-mighty Germans.

I read 5 German papers daily. It seems that they translate the leftist rags in the USA, then paste them into their own rag. For good measure they add what they call “German wit” which is their own questionable cynicism, always bashing Trump as a fool. Remember, the Germans still think they should rule the world and that they are the smartest people ever born to this inferior world.
